The ITM Theft Fraud Intervention Program (TFI) is designed to be a presentation of the overall economic impact of theft on society and the legal, civil and personal ramifications of theft. Clients are asked to examine themselves honestly, consider the existence of personal deficits, and recognize unhealthy beliefs and thought patterns that have led to problematic behaviors. This acknowledgement of responsibility precedes the development of interventions which would allow clients to make the necessary changes to lead a more productive, law-abiding, and personally satisfying lifestyle. The latter part of the program will focus on being able to recognize and counter thinking errors that rationalize or justify engaging in harmful, embarrassing, and exploitative behaviors. The overall goal is to assist people in a reasonable manner to facilitate a healthy personal management of their lives through better decision-making and engaging in behaviors that are consistent with both their short term and long term best interests.
