The ITM Group offers an evidence-based treatment approach for the various group programs offered. At The ITM Group, an integrative approach is used in therapy incorporating cognitive behavior therapy and positive psychology.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) emphasizes the important role of thinking in how we feel and what we do. By exploring patterns of thinking that lead to self-destructive behaviors and the beliefs that direct these thoughts, offenders can modify their patterns of thinking to improve coping and reduce recidivism.
- Positive Psychology is a strength-based approach which focuses developing offenders' capacity to attain valued goals and achieve psychological well-being.
